Honduran artisans have been part of our culture for decades. Giving them a platform to share their artistic heritage and also collaborate with Danilos is a privilege for our company. Origins ensures that the Honduran artisanal culture of working with natural fibers remains alive for our generation and those to come. UNIQUE TIES Close relationships with the Santa Barbara artisans began over seven years ago. “When we work with the artisan community of Santa Bárbara and other collaborators, time is needed to build relationships of mutual trust, understanding, and respect. This is the only way to maintain a successful collaboration ”, explains managing director Raquel Muller. Over the years, Danilos has created employment opportunities for artisans and invested in minimizing the environmental impact and maximizing sustainability of its raw materials. This continues even during the global pandemic we are living within.
We work only with the top 1% of the hide — the layer that keeps the grain, the scent, and the memory of the animal. It darkens with time; it never cracks.
